Our main system is a JBL VRX932LA line array over JBL SRX728S dual-18" subwoofers, run through professional amplification and speaker processing. Delivered, tuned in the room and operated, not dropped at a loading dock with a manual. A line array spreads sound evenly from the front table to the back of the room: clear speeches everywhere, and a dance floor with weight without anyone near the speakers being overwhelmed.

Guest counts are guidelines, not promises. What actually decides the system is the room: its size and ceiling height, whether it is carpeted, indoors or outdoors, how big the dance floor is, the music, the level the event needs and how many rooms or zones there are. A 200-person wedding in a low carpeted room needs less than a 150-person event in a concrete loft. We confirm the room with the venue before we quote.

Every price includes delivery, load-in, setup, sound check, tuning, operation and strike. With DJ Dynamite booked, he runs the system from the booth; for sound-only bookings a technician stays with it for up to six hours for $450, then $75 an hour.

Ceremony sound and second zones

A ceremony is not the reception system turned down. It is its own small system in front of the guests, with a microphone on the officiant and someone watching the levels.

Microphones and speech

Speech is where systems get judged. We bring more mics than you asked for, we ring out the room before doors, and we keep a wired handheld on the floor because wireless eventually does something stupid.

Playback redundancy

Two independent sources into two console inputs, both loaded with the same show. A laptop is never the only path to sound. This costs nothing and eliminates the most embarrassing failure available at an event.

Common questions

Can I rent a sound system without an operator?

For very simple systems, sometimes. For anything with a console the answer is normally no. An unattended mixer at a wedding is a bad trade for the money it saves.

How much does sound system rental cost in Toronto?

From $650 delivered, set up and operated for a small room. A 250-guest wedding usually takes Premium Reception Sound, $1,750: the JBL line array over two dual-18" subs. Above 500 guests the system is engineered and quoted per room.

What speakers do you use?

The main system is JBL: VRX932LA line-array elements over SRX728S dual-18" subwoofers, with professional amplification and speaker processing. Ceremonies and second rooms run on JBL EON powered speakers. It is a professional line-array system, not a pair of powered DJ speakers on sticks.

Do you provide wireless microphones?

Yes. Two wireless handhelds and a lav as standard, plus a wired backup. Batteries are fresh for every event rather than carried over.

What if the venue already has speakers?

Often we use them for speech and add our own for music. In-house banquet systems are usually distributed ceiling speakers, which are good for announcements and hopeless for a dance floor.

Do you tune the system to the room?

Yes, before doors, with the room empty and then adjusted once it fills. A room with three hundred people in it sounds nothing like the same room empty.
